QA/QC Manager

JLE Group is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to join our Manufacturing & Hire division. Based in Newcastle, this role offers the opportunity to shape quality standards across high-volume electrical equipment production and major project delivery.

About the role

This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing quality assurance and control systems for manufacturing and project works.

You'll ensure all materials, workmanship, and deliverables meet JLE's standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements while managing project engineers and maintaining compliance with our ISO management plan.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensuring alignment with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and company policies.
• Creating project quality plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and procedures.
• Leading internal/external audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Overseeing inspections, testing of materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Monitoring supplier/subcontractor quality performance and procured materials.
• Tracking quality metrics, defects, and trends.
• Preparing KPI dashboards production reports and cost analysis for senior management.
• Leading QA/QC personnel, site inspectors, and project engineers and providing guidance on quality requirements during project planning.
• Working closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and manufacturing teams.

What you'll bring

Essential:

• Experience in electrical manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC principles in construction, electrical, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with ISO standards and auditing processes.
• Strong understanding of ISO standards and auditing processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Proven problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent documentation, reporting, and quality systems capability.

Desirable:

• Management experience in planning, organising, and evaluation.
• Knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes of Practice.
• Contract training (GC 21 AS/4000 Standard Minor works.)
• OH&S training.
• 7–12 years' relevant experience.
